Congratulations Martha & Dean!!!

So July 11th continued being an amazing day at the Park Country Club, which kind of looks like a castle, and is an amazing spot to be married. I met Martha and Dean first through Skype and then in person, and while they are awesome people who have a beautiful relationship, it’s impossible not to mention that they met speed dating…because that is crazy awesome! But in a world of fifty, 3 minutes dates, they found each other and the rest is history. So on this gorgeous day I checked in with both of them…and they were pumped and barely nervous. Dean was excited because they hadn’t seen each other beforehand and he was wearing a white tux coat which he knew Martha would get a kick out of. Soon it was time for her to see him and we lined up outside waiting for her beautiful self to come down. Her first bridesmaid, and Dean’s sister, was the cutest because she immediately started sobbing. Everyone couldn’t help but laugh at her outpouring of love. When Martha first stepped out, I laughed at the look she made when she saw the white tux coat. She was surprised indeed! They were happy and calm and made it to that most important kiss, as the guests blew bubbles around them. Now if only Dean could get that wedding ring to fit on his finger! Congratulations Dean and Martha! I’m so glad the two of you found me and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

July 11th was amazing!!! It was warm and sunny and I was at the Buffalo Botanical Gardens, which is seriously the best place you can be on a beautiful day. Jack was worry free. He had his groomsmen and was super pumped for Kelly to get there. He didn’t seem a bit nervous (more to come on that), and the guys hung out and teased him as I pinned on some boutonnieres. It felt like a day nothing could go wrong. Soon enough Kelly arrived and we began walking from the beautiful outdoor gardens to the gazebo to wait for her approach. And it was worth the wait! Kelly looked stunning as she smiled her way up to Jack. They could not take their eyes from each other. The only time they did was when Jack’s dad come up to read A Meditation on Marriage, which was something he wrote for them. The gist of it was that instead of being two separate people, they would be one, and it was a beautiful thought for that moment. They had written their own vows and although Kelly teared up and she read from her vow book, it was Jack’s nervousness that was cutest of all! He pulled out his vows, but couldn’t read them. So he took a second..and five seconds…fifteen seconds…he needed to calm himself down because I think he knew he would be all tears if he didn’t! It was beautiful and Kelly just beamed at him knowing it was his love for her that was choking him up. They made it through and into a huge embrace and first kiss. Congratulations Jack and Kelly! The two of you were meant to be and I’m glad I got to make it happen! Best wishes for always.

July 3rd was a day of dreams and adventure. As the sun shone down on the park where Danny and Olivia would take their vows, people gathered to be at the onset of this great adventure they would take together. Olivia and Danny are an adorable couple, and had probably told me the best proposal story I had ever heard. They are obsessed with Pixar movies so Danny rented out a theater so he could fill it with flowers and just play her Pixar movies as he proposed. For real?! That’s what I’m talking about. Take note people. So I was excited to be a part of their wedding day which was just as beautiful. Danny waited with family and friends for Olivia to arrive. He didn’t want to see her until the moment she started to walk towards him. And it was worth the wait because she looked so beautiful when she did! Since their wedding was based on the movie Up, their Aunt made them an adventure book for their new life together. During the ceremony they had brothers and grandparents and parents come up with pictures of adventures they already experienced with them. They added those to the book and will continue to add more photos together as they conquer the world together. Adorable right? They looked so happy to be surrounded by those they love, but the happiest to have their hands wrapped in the others. When the kiss came everyone erupted in applause, myself included! Congratulations Danny & Olivia! I enjoyed every moment I had with the two of you and can’t wait to hear about your future adventures. Much love always. As Ellie from Up said, adventure is out there…

So as I previously mentioned, the rain and I are were on bad terms on June 27th. I know that some areas are experiencing a drought, and we should be happy for the rain, but my poor couples! Again, Carrie and Tom were so happy for their big day to finally have arrived, that they were ok with it being inside the beautiful Samuel’s Grande Manor, but still, a little part of them really wanted that gazebo in the garden. I sure hope rain is lucky on your wedding day because then they have nothing but clear skies ahead of them!
So you know it was raining, but people inside seemed unperturbed and happy to be there. Tom was a bit nervous and didn’t seem to mind that the ceremony would be indoors. I think he was just ready to get it going! Carrie, a perfect bride, was a little bummed but happy that her family and friends were there and that she would be marrying her fella. I love people like this! Finally it was go time and Carrie made her way out to Tom who seemed to be glowing as he watched her approach. Their looks and words were heartfelt and you could practically feel the love in the room. Before I knew it, they were in each others arms for that first kiss, and I forgot that it was raining or that this wasn’t exactly what they had planned…it seemed perfect. Congratulations Tom and Carrie! You’re a lovely couple and you already passed your first obstacle together. Enjoy every moment you have together and thank you for sharing such a big one with me.

June 27th was about two things. Love and rain. For my first wedding of the day, I took my rain soaked self to a church basement where Marlene and Jim had rescheduled their wedding picnic. CURSE YOU WEATHER! They were still in good spirits, but you could tell they were a little disappointed. But for a couple that’s been together through a couple decades and a new millennium, they’ve experienced so many ups and downs together, they know how to go with the flow. So family and friends gathered together, umbrellas and all, and looked just as happy to see Jim and Marlene finally married that they might as well have been standing in the sunshine. Jim and Marlene don’t really like all eyes on them, so it was cute to see them stand nervously in front of people they’ve know their whole lives and exchange vows. At that moment, you couldn’t really tell or care what was happening outside. Congratulations Jim and Marlene!!! I’m so happy you finally deiced to take that last plunge and become husband and wife. Just imagine how many picnics are in your future from this moment forward! Much love!

June 20th started off a rainy and cloudy day. I was nervous as I drove to Sprague Brook Park for Molly & Corey’s outside ceremony! I needn’t have though because not only did the sun come out and the rain stop, but inside the park’s casino, it was decorated so adorably, that it would have been just fine to have the ceremony indoors.
Molly was super chill. She was happy it was her wedding day, happy to be spending time with family and friends, happy to marry Corey and not at all bothered by anything that could go “wrong.” She was a good example for brides everywhere. She said she didn’t “sweat the small stuff” and therefore couldn’t be disappointed. I believe it was that thinking that led her to a perfect day. After I pinned on Corey’s boutineer and tied a tie for a guest, it was time to walk out onto the damp grass and gather for the big moment. It felt like a wedding from a movie. Not only was everything beautiful (bride and groom included), but it just felt exactly how weddings are supposed to feel. Outdoors, sunshine, light breeze, closest family members, and no distractions. Touching vows from the heart, tears rolling down cheeks, and a perfect kiss at the end. It couldn’t have been better!
Congratulations Corey and Molly! I’m so happy to have met a couple such as yourselves and to share in such a lovely moment. I hope my wedding turns out exactly the same way…simple, but beautiful! All my love and best wishes.

Man oh man, I wish everyone could have been at the Avanti Mansion on June 19th for Christie and Jason’s wedding. Was it a beautiful day? Yes. What it a lovely spot? Yes. But that is not what made this one of my favorite weddings. But I’ll get to that in a minute.
So like I said, it was a beautiful day. It started off as another cloudy, rainy, disappointing morning, but the weather really pulled it together in time for the wedding. Jason is quiet and adorable. He looked just plain happy waiting for Christie and when I checked in with her, she too seemed excited for the moment. Eventually it was time and Christie’s father walked her down the aisle and onto the arm of Jason. And that’s when things got amazing. I learned that Christie was nervous. I also learned that her nervous tick is to laugh uncontrollably. So for 80% of the wedding, Christie was hysterically laughing as well as crying and the occasional “what is wrong with me?!”
It was an amazing event. It was soooooo difficult for me to not laugh along. Jason was laughing and the guests because it was such a pure and innocent moment. She just couldn’t stop nervous laughing! It was original and lovely and I hope that they wouldn’t have changed a single thing. After laugh filled vows and ring exchange, Christie managed to keep it all in just in time for that big kiss! Congratulations Jason and Christie! You’re a wonderful couple and I’m completely serious when I say that was one of my all time favorite weddings. I hope that spirit of love and laughter follows you for all your days.

Ugh. I get so mad at the rain. I mean, I love rain, but not when it forces a beautiful couple indoors before they want to be! Still June 12th worked out for Lindsay and Kyle at Byblos Niagara. It did rain and they couldn’t get married out on the gazebo. But that didn’t stop them for the most important part of the day, which was just being together. After checking in with both of them, I realized that they were just fine, they were mostly just excited and nervous for the ceremony, regardless of where it was! So family and friends gathered in the hotel, and I waited with Kyle for Lindsay to make her way down…and he was nervous…very nervous. Adorably nervous! So we stood in front of everyone, and his brother hung out at his side to keep him calm and collected. Although I’m not sure it was working…and it was so cute. I thought when Lindsay would come out, he would feel better, but I think she was just as nervous as him! I love shy people. They are the cutest to be around. We made it through the ceremony and they relaxed enough to grab each other for that big kiss! It was a sweet moment and I was so happy to be a part of it. Congratulations Kyle and Lindsay. The two of you are perfect for each other and I hope you have a lifetime full of sunshine!

June 6th was exciting because it was my first trip to The Foundry since it was built, and it was amazing! Inside and outside, the space was ready to entertain, especially for Rachel and Aaron. There may have been a bit of anxiety in the air when I arrived. Things were still be setting up after a delay, and I could tell Rachel was feeling some nerves because everyone kept asking her questions. Listen up readers, if someone is getting married, don’t ask them questions! Just figure it out for them, they have enough on their mind!
I checked in with Aaron and he was cool and calm. Guys don’t worry about the little things as much as the brides do, so he was just excited for the wedding to start. Soon enough it was time and Rachel grabbed her adorable little son and began to make her way outside to where Aaron and the wedding party was waiting. It was a beautiful day and there were so many people gathered around to watch the moment that had been building for years. And if you’re gonna do a ceremony right, you absolutely should drink a class of wine during it like Aaron and Rachel did. That took the edge off for sure. After that it was all smiles and laughing, and watching their little ones fidget in their fancy clothes. Congratulations Aaron and Rachel! I hope the two of you had a fantastic and relaxing night with the people you love most. Now your little family is complete and their is nothing but adventure and happiness before you!

Without a doubt, Lauren and Sean are one of those couples that you immediately like. Laid back and lovely, I was looking forward to spending June 5th with them at Kloc’s Grove. From the minute I got there, there wasn’t anywhere else I would rather have been…except maybe hiding someone binge eating their cupcakes. Sean looked very handsome hanging around with his groomsmen looking completely relaxed, while Lauren looked gorgeous and a wee bit stressed. That always seems to happen to the brides who are hoping for a perfect day. She didn’t stay stressed long, and soon enough you could tell she was just happy that the moment had arrived.
After the very excited guests finally calmed down (they couldn’t stop hugging and posing with Sean), we headed to the alter to await Lauren. Sean completely lit up when she appeared. I think I did too! She walked down to him and they both started laughing. I think they did a lot of that during the ceremony. It was serious, but lighthearted and made for a perfect moment. After their vows were exchanged and rings on their hands, they both grabbed each other for a huge kiss, followed by huge smiles from all around. Congratulations Sean and Lauren! You’re a perfect couple and you pulled off a perfect day. I wish you all the happiness you deserve for the rest of your lives!
