YellowBird Wedding

because simple is beautiful

If you’ve never been to the Rapids TheatreΒ in Niagara Falls then you’re missing a cool place to watch a band play. But you’re missing an even cooler place to get married! On Saturday November 10th, Kristen and Drew nervously paced in separate green rooms, waiting for the big moment. Kristen confided in me that the stairs were a bit daunting and that she elected to wear sneakers (adorable) and Drew laughed with his friends, but looked completely distracted, nervously gazing at the stairway to the stage. As the two met on the stage, with their precious ring bearer son, everything came into place. It didn’t look like they were nervous anymore, but just excitedly anticipating this moment. After having to chase little Merrick down a bit (3 year olds will roam) they shared their vows with Kristen’s eyes welling up, and sealed the deal with a kiss. Congratulations Drew and Kristen. I’m so glad Kristen found the courage eight months after meeting Drew, to make that call. It was worth it!

Where to begin with Diana and Phill? They definitely aren’t like any other couple I’ve ever met before…and I think they are very proud of that! Their sense of humor is what brought them together and it’s clear when you’re around them that they are meant for each other. And on Saturday November 3rd they proved that to their friends and family. Who else would laugh at Star Trek jokes in their ceremony? Or have a wiener dog as their ring bearer? It’s always a treat to see couples relaxed and having a good time on their wedding day and I’m sure Phill and Diana kept their guests laughing all night. Congratulations to you both! I’m glad I met my most difficult couple πŸ˜‰

Not many people get to officiate for the first person they got detention with in 8th grade. Or the first person they snuck into the woods to smoke a cigarette with. Or the person who some of their best young adult memories are tied to. On Saturday October 22nd, at Brierwood Country Club, I was lucky enough to share in a moment that I will never forget. Having been friends with Patty for such a long time, it was beautiful and moving to see her and her best friend Billy holding hands and giggling with each other in front of their friends and family. I haven’t seen Patty as much as I would like in the last few years, but after meeting Billy I knew that she was exactly where she is supposed to be. They are a perfect couple who I’m sure didn’t mind kicking off their fancy clothes at the end of the night and preparing for the Bills game the next day! I offer my sincerest congratulations and thank you to both of them. I was honored to be a part of such a beautiful day with such an amazing couple. But watch out Billy, Patty can get you in some real trouble! I can attest to that πŸ™‚

They were adorable when I first met them, and they were no different on Saturday October 13th at Lucarellis Banquet Center in Lacawanna for their wedding day! Justin was very focused on making sure everything was perfect, and Jessica seemed eager for the ceremony to begin. All of their friends and family gathered outside on the deck as they both stared at each other, smiling with tears welling up in their eyes. Their groomsmen and bridesmaids joked and complimented and kept the couple more happy then nervous. Congratulation Jessica and Justin. I’m so happy you both found each other and I wish you nothing but happiness in your future!

I loved October 13th not only because it was my birthday (!) but because I finally was able to meet Roger and Josh who live in Germany and are part of our military! It wasn’t easy to plan an international wedding, but they succeeded and ended up in Grand Island together, ready to take the plunge. They both looked very handsome and kept everything light and fun as they joked with friends right up until the big moment…then everything got serious! They said their vows with absolute sincerity, and immediately seemed thrilled because they were all smiles and laughs after that. Congratulations to both of them and thank you for letting me share in your beautiful day!

Ok, so it was raining on the evening of October 7th. So, it was raining a lot. That will not, cannot deter true love. So even as it pelted down on their perfect alter, and dampened their hay stack seats and fall flowers, Joe and Kim still met each other, in the beautiful back yard of Joe’s father in South Wales, and shared their best moment together. It was fun watching Joe sort of pace around nervously, not because of the rain itself, but because he was worried that the rain would bum Kim out. Adorable! Everyone remained in high spirits as they huddled outside and watched Kim, who was a vision, come down the sodden grass to her love, and throw away her umbrella when she realized she would rather hold his hand. Their vows had the crowd laughing (they may have been Dr. Seuss inspired), and Joe almost had me in tears as he told Kim how beautiful she was, pretty much through the entire ceremony. They are a perfect example that you can have a perfect day, even if it doesn’t go to plan. Best wishes to a wonderful couple. I’ve never cared less about standing in the rain. And since I also got a wind chime out of it, I’d say it was one of my favorite days! All my love!

This is the place to get married! I fell in love with the Commissioner’s Cabin at Chestnut Ridge, and it was the perfect day for a fall wedding, and for Taryn and Dan. October 7th may have been a chilly day, but you wouldn’t know it in their beautiful cabin with a roaring fire. Not only were they both gorgeous, but they are both chefs and made most of their wedding feast. And that was gorgeous as well! After walking down the aisle to an orchestral version of Bohemian Rhapsody (awesome/hilarious), Taryn and Dan met in front of the fire and smiled and joked with each other throughout. They looked like this moment was a long time coming, and something they were sure of so long ago. Congratulations Dan and Taryn. I feel lucky to have met both of you and for sharing in your moment. Although, I’m a little bummed I didn’t knick some treats and take them with me!

It may have been windy outside, but Dave and Nancy were warm and happy inside the Tonawanda Castle waiting for their big moment. The first thing I noticed were that the guys looked amazing. Best tuxes yet! And Nancy was gorgeous as she came down the aisle with mom and dad on both sides. They stared at each other the whole time, and had that same inside joke quality that they did when I first met them. My favorite part was Dave’s vows which he read so quietly only Nancy could hear them! Nancy let everyone hear hers as she joked about Dave’s love of double cheeseburgers. A gorgeous couple that were meant for each other, thank you for letting me be a part of your day! Best wishes always!

Saturday October 6th was an exciting day! Not only did I get to return to the beautiful Butler Mansion, but I got to see Bridget and Casey again (and I really love them)! Casey was immediate with the jokes and Bridget’s smile could not have been bigger. It may have been cold outside for some, but Casey and Bridget looked warmed by each other (ok, maybe they were a tiny bit cold). So much laughter and adorableness, I kind of wanted to take them with me after the ceremony. Their vows were incredibly moving and the way that they looked at each other could take your breath away. Congratulations to a perfect couple. I’m so glad that you found each other, although there really wasn’t any other option…you’re meant to be!!!

And how i loooove adorable thank you cards!!!
