YellowBird Wedding

because simple is beautiful

September 24th was the kind of day that made you feel like you might just blow away! At The Sterling at Arrowhead, I met up with Megan and Ryan, who were looking forward with their outdoor wedding because a little wind didn’t scare them! It turned out to be lovely outside, although I have to apologize in advance for what my hair must look like in photos. While they both seemed a little nervous, they also seemed ready for this moment. As I stood outside with Ryan, I watched him get some butterflies as he nervously muttered to himself. He looked so happy when Megan made her beautiful entrance and soon enough, we were on our way! They kept things simple and lovely, and soon enough, they were kissing as a newly married couple! Congratulations Ryan and Megan! You’re a perfect couple and I’m so happy for you and your long life together. Much love!

One of the best parts of living in Western New York, is that you get to go to weddings at Letchworth State Park! And that’s where I found myself September 17th for Julie and Kevin’s special day. It was a very intimate moment with just close friends and family, and a roaring waterfall behind them! Even though I had to yell in their faces a bit (see: waterfall), they were good sports and their vows to each other were only loud enough for each other to hear, which was beautiful and special. You could tell how happy they were to be sharing this moment with each other and you knew with certainty what a happy future that had ahead of them. Congratulations Kevin and Julie! I feel so lucky to have shared in such a noteworthy moment. Much love always.

September 3rd was a perfect day, at a perfect place, Glenora Wine Cellars, with a perfect couple, Jessica & Paul! It’s really all you could hope for in a wedding. They are such a loving and well-matched couple, that I knew this wedding was going to be a good time, and there was no doubt that it was! Between the laughter and the tears, it was a special moment for all who attended.
I watched Paul get teary eyed as Jessica made her way out to him, looking stunning, and they both pretty much melted into each others eyes. They were very present and laughed as I made fun of Phish, and beamed at each other as I talked about how special their love was. They also had a glass bead unity ceremony where they combined the beads which will be sent away and made into a lasting heirloom. Like I said, perfect! Congratulations Paul and Jessica. I really was honored to share in your day and to have a boutonniere, which I can’t lie, is my favorite! I wish you a long and happy life together!

September 3rd was amazing because I got to spend it with Ariana and Louigi for their wedding day! Was I almost in tears when I arrived at Kotecki’s and saw their Up themed wedding? Yes. Everything about it was touching and beautiful and I was excited to share it with them. It was lovely outside as they made their way to the gazebo, Louigi tearing up as Ariana stepped outside. They seemed nervous, but happy and after their vows and a family sand ceremony, they were nervously and quickly kissing as husband and wife, ready to get out of the limelight and to start enjoying family and friends! Congratulations Louigi and Ariana. I’m so glad he wasn’t catfishing you Ariana 🤣🤣🤣because you are the perfect couple!

August 15th was a very special day at the Japanese Gardens in Delaware Park. Alicia and September were getting married! It was warm and sunny out as guests excitedly gathered, waiting for the two brides to take their place. As they both walked down, they looked beautiful, nervous, and excited. Their vows to each other were so meaningful and their handfasting ceremony was extra amazing because Alicia’s Grandparents, who have been married for 53 years, tied their ribbons! It was a perfect moment as they declared their love, jumped over the broom, and kissed as a married couple, joined together forever! Congratulations September and Alicia! I was honored to be a part of your day and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Hayloft in the Grove never disappoints as a gorgeous wedding venue. And when you’re a hilarious and wonderful couple like Erin and Craig, it’s even more magical. And on August 14th, I was able to share an amazing moment with them, WHILE IT WAS LIVE PAINTED! I mean I’ve seen many cool things at weddings, but having someone paint the ceremony spot to end with their kiss was 👏👏👏
I really loved Erin and Craig, and Erin and Craig really loved the Bills…as was understood by their ring bearer sign and vows…many Bills references in the vows! And I loved it all. It was so them and unique and a fun moment to be a part of. And after they kissed and walked out together as husband and wife, a bagpiper started as a surprise to Erin’s dad! He was sobbing, I was almost sobbing, and it was a wonderful day. Congratulations Craig and Erin! You’re such a perfect couple and I wish you a lifetime of happiness and Bill’s wins!

August 7th was such a beautiful day, and if you were at Knox Farm State Park, you were one of the lucky ones. But the luckiest of all was Joelle and Graham, because not only are they adorable people, but they were getting married and it was a perfect wedding! Outside in the sunshine, a violinist made beautiful music, as guests gathered to watch Joelle and Graham vow to continue loving each other, as they smiled, and joked, and laughed as a giant thunder boom erupted out of no where! They were relaxed and able to go with the flow, which creates a perfect moment. They are so well matched, and I was so happy to pronounce them husband and wife! Congratulations Graham and Joelle! Thank you for sharing your day with me and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

July 24th was threatening rain, but it was so green and beautiful in Stafford, NY, in Samantha’s parents backyard, it was hard to remember to be nervous about it. When I arrived I found Sam chillin’ with her bridesmaid’s (and the cutest sleepy puppers), and getting excited about things starting. Tim took me around to see how things would work in this amazing space, and I gawked at what a pretty alter it was with a giant pond behind them. It did start to sprinkle a little bit as Sam was walking, but she looked so beautiful I’m not sure anyone noticed. They smiled at each other and read their beautiful vows and I was reminded how magical these moments can be. It may be raining on you, but who cares when you’re telling your person how much you love them. It reminds you what is important in life. After I sped up my talk a bit (I didn’t want then too wet), it felt like no time before they were kissing as husband and wife! Congratulations Tim and Samantha. You’ve been together a long time and this seemed like a moment that was worth waiting for for. Best wishes always.

The Turning Point Homestead is an amazing wedding spot, and I was so happy I found myself there on June 26th for Lisa and Mark’s wedding. They are a really fun and unique couple that you can tell were made for each other. They both seemed really calm and happy for the moment that was about to happen. Their guests were full of gusto and everyone was instantly having a great time. They stood outside under their beautiful arch, and after saying their vows to one another, tied their hands together in one of our oldest traditions, a handfasting ceremony. It was perfect for them and a truly lovely moment. Soon enough they were kissing and the crowd was erupting with love! Congratulations Mark and Lisa! Thank you for letting me share in your day and I wish you the best! Much love!

June 19th was a rainy day, but not for the stunning ceremony of Karolyn and Ken at the Glenora Wine Cellars, in the Finger Lakes. The rain held off so that they could hold hands and lock eyes with a stunning background as they vowed to love each other til the end. It was a very emotional ceremony. Once Ken’s dad read his own written blessing in the middle, I knew we were all done for. There wasn’t a dry eye including Ken (and possibly myself). It was such a beautiful moment for two beautiful people, and when they got chocked up delivering their vows to one another, you knew you were watching something special. Congratulations Ken and Karolyn! It’s clear that you’re meant to be and I wish you a lifetime of happy, love filled days.
