When I first met Tami and Art, they loved kidding around about how long they had been together and how it was taking a long time to get down that aisle. After a decade together, they decided to finally make it official (and make the dogs legitimate) by getting married on October 4th at the Avant Embassy Suite Hotel in downtown Buffalo. Being such a fun and lighthearted couple, they let me know they had something special in store for their ceremony that their guests were unaware of. When I arrived and found Art, he showed me what they had in mind and I burst out laughing. Since it had taken so long for them to arrive at this moment, when I read their vows to them and they repeated, they were going to come from a children’s book called “It’s About Time.” I knew their guests were going to love that! Not to mention their program had me in stitches. Check out the image below and you’ll see why. Tami looked just as ready as Art to start the show, so moments after checking in with her, the guitar started and a live singer began belting out “At Last” by Etta James. Seeing a pattern?! Tami walked up to meet Art and they kept making faces at and teasing each other throughout. I love moments like that. They weren’t nervous at all because they knew what they were doing. Soon it was time to pull out the book, and their friends and family loved it. After a short and sweet ceremony, it was time for the kiss and for the party! Congratulations Art & Tami! I’m so glad you found each other and realized that your friendship was meant to be more. And I’m so glad you finally made it down the aisle…at last…it’s about time.
