It may have been raining on Friday June 1st, but all that did was shower the beautiful couple, Michael and Alicia, in wedding day luck! Everything was perfect at Beaver Island Clubhouse in Grand Island, as Michael paced around waiting for Alicia to arrive. And was she worth the wait! Looking gorgeous, and beaming with happiness, Alicia walked up to Michael and I watched the entire crowd light up. To a couple that met when they were 15 and have to gorgeous children together, I say congratulations! You prove that high school sweethearts can be soul mates! Best wishes for a long, and happy life together!
The first thing you noticed on Sunday May 27th at the always beautiful Botanical Gardens, were Sarah’s amazing blue heels! She looked absolutely gorgeous and Patrick looked awfully dapper in his suit as well. The weather was perfect everyone was all smiles as Patrick and Sarah walked down the aisle together. Patrick’s daughter Sinead was adorable as she got up in front of everyone and shared a poem, and his son Seamus did a fine job as best man. Congratulations and best wishes to Sarah and Patrick! I feel so lucky to have shared in your day!
Niagara Falls is always a beautiful spot to be, but when the sun is out, it’s 80 degrees, and a wonderful couple is getting married, it’s the absolute perfect place to be! On a little bit of Earth between the Falls called Luna Island, Cassandra and Steve held hands in the shade of an enormous tree, and vowed to love each other forever. With their handmade bouquet and boutineer (made out of book pages…it was amazing!), they looked beautiful and happy as their family smiled on beside them. There was a rainbow over the falls next to them and I knew that was appropriate because they will always find color in the world around them. Congratulations Steven and Cassandra. May your humor and uniqueness keep the two of you happy forever!
On Friday May 19th, the sun was shining and everyone was all smiles at the Charles E. Burchfield Nature & Art Center in West Seneca, NY. Even though a traffic jam tried to stand in their way, Krystie was determined to make it to Eric! Krystie looked beautiful and Eric looked excited as the moment came at last. The sharing of their vows was a touching moment for everyone there as tears began to appear in their eyes. An amazing day for an amazing couple that has been together for since they were 16! Congratulations to Eric and Krystie. I wish you guys endless happiness!
Rumor had it that it was going to be rainy and overcast today, but they couldn’t have been more wrong. It was stunning outside, especially at Mendon Park in Pittsford, NY. Kyle and Alice looked lovely, relaxed, and ready for a summer wedding today and they walked around the water, Alice’s dress lightly blowing around in the wind, and posed by giant budding trees. The excerpt from The Little Prince that their friend read had guests reaching for their tissues and Alice’s perfect streaming tears towards the end of the ceremony were enough to almost make me lose my place! The way that they looked at each other reminds me how lucky I am to share in these moments. And to think I thought it couldn’t get cuter after a bunch of goslings ran into their ceremony! Congratulations and best wishes to Kyle and Alice. I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
Although it’s nothing new, I still find myself in a state of shock, shaking my head in disbelief, that we are continuing to deny people basic civil rights. I’m outraged, disgusted, embarrassed and heartbroken that we battle each other over whether or not two people who love each other and want to commit to each other should be allowed to or not.
I, without a doubt, support gay marriage. I support people who dedicate themselves to each other. I support believing in each other and committing to love someone for the rest of your life. I’ve been honored to preside over the weddings of gay couples who happiness was contagious and beautiful.
I just wanted to remind all those lovers out there, straight or gay, that you shouldn’t have to prove anything to anyone, and I’m sorry that not everyone feels that way. This shouldn’t be a complicated issue, because really, it’s simple. And simple is beautiful.
Keep loving Buffalo. Spread that love and let it wake up the world. And remember, if you want to share your love and joy, I’d be honored to make that happen for you.
The North Tonwanda Botanical Gardens looked its most beautiful when Cassie walked down the path, tears in her eyes, to meet Jim, as her nervously swayed back and forth and kept muttering to himself with a smile on his face. It was sunny with a cool breeze and we were all very impressed with Cassie who kept it together even though everyone thought she would sob throughout. They couldn’t wait to say I do, barely letting me get the words out and cracking me up with their adorableness. Thank you for letting me be a part of this day and for being so wonderful together. All the best to Cassie and Jim!
A 6am wedding on May 5th sounded kind of daunting at first, but once everyone was gathered outside at Island Park and the sun started coming up, I knew that I had made the right decision to be a part of this day. Paul looked handsome and goofy in his orange paisley shirt and Jackie looked wonderful in her short white, ballerina sort of dress. A couple that knows how to have fun together on their wedding day, will always have fun throughout their marriage. The only competition they had for cuteness was when two geese and 35 goslings swan down the creek next to their ceremony spot! Congratulations Jackie & Paul! I wish you nothing but the best!

There may have been a chill in air in Buffalo today, but you sure couldn’t feel it at the Botanical Gardens for Steph and Tom’s wedding. It felt like a movie when Steph stepped out onto the lawn and the cloud’s parted and the sun came out! Tom couldn’t keep his eyes off Steph as she walked up to him in her amazing white top hat and handmade bouquet which had a bird on top of it! And let me tell you, I love birds!
An amazing couple, I wish nothing but the best for both of them. And I hope I get some pictures of those amazing bouquets! Congratulations again, Tom and Stephanie!!! I love you guys!
