YellowBird Wedding

because simple is beautiful

Who cares if winter won’t seem to end? Love is in the air regardless! That was especially true on March 15th at Karpeles Manuscript Museum. As Scott hid downstairs with his best man, guests began to fill in, admiring the beauty of the building as always. But they had yet to see the real beauty! That took place when Kim arrived, ready to get out of the chill and into her love’s arms! Once Scott found out she was there, we hurried to the alter so that he wouldn’t see her until the last second. After all the bridesmaids came down (which took awhile because I think there were 10 or 12!) Kim stepped into the room on her father’s arm, glowing from the warmth of the room, the love for her man, and perhaps the extra love growing in her belly! As she made her way to Scott, they both looked nervous, but once they faced each other, they looked completely comfortable…like they had been waiting for that moment. Congratulations Kim & Scott! I’m so glad I was able to meet both of you and share in your day. I wish you and your new family nothing but happiness!!!

I loved February 15th!!! All weddings are special and brilliant in their own way, but some weddings cause your eyes to well up with happy tears. And that happened to me because of Lisa & Lauree! In a private room at the Seneca Niagara Casino, I hung around with Lauree’s very proud papa as we eagerly awaited the bride’s to make their appearance. Lisa came down first, looking beautiful, and hid from Lauree as she arrived shortly after looking gorgeous!
To say that the guests were excited for this wedding is an understatement. Every person that walked down the aisle got a round of applause, including each bride. As Lauree waited up front with me and Lisa came in, they waved at each other, with huge smiles on their faces, and Lauree told her to get up there and join her! Throughout the ceremony they smiled, laughed, held hands, kissed hands, thanked me, made jokes, and made it a unique and wonderful ceremony. I think after ten years together, they were pretty comfortable! Congratulations Lauree and Lisa! I feel honored that I was able to share your wedding day with you. I know there will be nothing but love and happiness in your future!

Winter weddings are where it’s at this year. Why wait a whole season to tell the person you love most that you want to be with them forever? Well this year, no one is waiting! On February 8th, Katherine and Chris decided to tie the knot, regardless of wind chill! At Pane’s restaurant they hurried around lighting floating candles and making sure everything was perfect for their guests. I don’t know how they didn’t stop and sneak a delicious looking cupcake, but they were focused. So after all the guests settled in, Katherine met Chris at a small alter and had their moment. Katherine immediately had tears glistening in her eyes, while Chris looked nervous as he glanced all around at their guests. It was a lovely moment that I can’t imagine they will ever forget. Congratulations Chris and Katherine!!! I’m so glad that you found each other and I wish you endless happiness and love.

There are many ways that you can start off a month, but NONE are as fun as a wedding! Karen and Andi aren’t wimps when it comes to cold weather. They wanted to be married and no snow or wind was going to stop them. Now that’s true love! At the always stunning Karpeles Manuscript Museum, guests chatted with Andi, looked at original manuscripts (like the original sheet music for “Here Comes the Bride!), and waited for the lovely Karen to arrive. Once the ladies got there, they hurried downstairs with their sweaters wrapped tightly around their shoulders and waited for the big moment to take place. Andi walked his mother down and guest’s giggled as he also walked Karen’s favorite stuffed animal Piggers, who has traveled the world with her. And he looked quite dapper in his mini tux 😉
Karen nervously approached and they smiled as they said their vows to each other. And of course the biggest smile of all came right before the kiss! Congratulations Andi & Karen! I’m so happy I was able to start my month off right with a beautiful couple! And Piggers!

January 18th was a chilly day, but not for Sarah and Beth. For them, it was the second time they got to confess their love to each other and swear to share a lifetime together. Six years earlier on January 18th, they had their first wedding. This time around, it was legal! At a cozy bed & breakfast at the Elmwood Village Inn, they gathered with their close friends and family, and their beautiful daughter to share a magical moment in time. They all stood together as a family and repeated the vows they had shared years earlier. And from the tears in their eyes you could tell they meant them just as much. For their sand ceremony, not only did the three of them combine their sand together, but they had family and friends add a stone with their name and some of their own sand. Obviously they know how important everyone around them is! It was a lovely moment and I was so happy to be able to share in it. Congratulations Beth & Sarah & Alaina! I wish your family a lifetime of happiness!
