YellowBird Wedding

because simple is beautiful

I was stoked for July 19th and Dallas and Becky’s wedding, because it was at Hidden Valley Animal Adventure, where I get to see the most beautiful black swans around! It’s a small drive-thru safari, and a perfect spot for the happy couple. When I arrived and found the bride and groom, Becky seemed nervous while Dallas was cool as a cucumber. That was about to change pretty quickly 😂 The music began and Becky made her beautiful entrance, crossing a bridge over a large pond, with honking geese and swans to Dallas, who now seemed to be feeling the moment. They got to their vows, and the struggle began. Overcome with emotion, it was hard for them to get through their meaningful words, having to stop and look at each other and smile and laugh and apologize to guests because this was such an overwhelming moment. I think I heard Dalas say, “my bad,” about 20 times! It was really adorable and I was so happy to have a front row seat to the action! They eventually made it through and soon enough, I was pronouncing them husband and wife!
Congratulations Dallas and Becky! I hope it was everything you dreamed of and that your safari was the perfect start to your new, happy life together!

On July 12th I felt whisked away to a magical place that was Lakeshore Vineyards. It was a lovely place on such a lovely day. The ceremony spot required a golf cart to get to, and when you walked through the doors, what a view! On the water and just gorgeous. Perfect for Kathryn and Matthew. They were looking and feeling amazing when I saw them. Probably getting excited to ride on their horse and carriage to the ceremony spot!
When they were together at the altar, it was a lovely moment (minus the biting flies and kept nipping at my feet). They looked so happy to be there, and their personalized vows were so meaningful and beautiful. The best part of the ceremony was when Kathryn’s dad got up to assist in the handfasting and read an Irish blessing to go with it. It was a perfect moment and you could tell they felt that as they grabbed each other for that first kiss as husband and wife. Even their pup Sanibel looked so happy!
Congratulations Matt and Kat! It was a day worthy of the two of you and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

What a day June 21st was! It was perfect outside, and you couldn’t have picked a more beautiful spot to be married that day than The Hayloft. It fit the beautiful people that Stephanie and Alec are! When I arrived, Stephanie was getting the finishing touches, and Alec was having such a good time with his groomsmen. Everyone was just so happy, I knew this was going to be a perfect moment. Inside the horse barn, guests were gathering, excitedly talking and waiting for the big moment to begin. Soon enough, I was at the altar with Alec, watching Stephanie make her dazzling entrance. They seemed so happy to see each other, even though they had only some minutes earlier. It felt like everything went by so quickly, because it all just felt like the best time. Soon enough, they were in each others arms kissing as husband and wife! I only wish I had been able to capture the thousands of bubbles that floated over them outside!
Congratulations Alec and Stephanie! I hope this was the moment you had been waiting for, and that you have so many more wonderful moments ahead of you!

Simple and stunning. I think that must have been the motto for Sarah and Douglas’s wedding. On June 20th, they wanted to be married standing near the magnificent Niagara Falls, in an intimate and lovely moment. I found them down by the falls, beaming at the moment and each other, and of course, the falls. Their reception was inside at Hyatt Place Niagara Falls, but it was such a perfect day to be outside. As they made their way to where I was standing, the smiles from the crowd began as well as the couple. You could feel how much this moment meant to them. You could hear the water rushing behind us and it was truly a very special moment. They kissed with such love, knowing now they were husband and wife!
Congratulations Douglas and Sarah! It was a perfect moment for the two of you and I wish you a lifetime of those moments!

June 6th was a beautiful and exciting day, since not only was I about to perform a wedding ceremony (my favorite), but I got to see Aster Estates in Skaneateles, a venue I had never been to before. It was a lovely spot and a perfect fit for Amanda and Kyle. When they arrived, they were very cool. Relaxed and hanging out together, greeting guests and laughing with their wedding party. I knew that I was going to be missing a heck of a reception! Everything was beautiful and ready, and so the music started and out danced the groomsmen, handing out beers to anyone who was thirsty. Then Kyle and Amanda made their way out, excitedly looking at each other and laughing and enjoying the moment. They read their vows to each other which promised to live and love (and to tolerate 😂), and guests beamed at them as they shared their first kiss as husband and wife!
Congratulations Kyle and Amanda! I hope you keep enjoying every moment together until forever!

May 31st was a lovely, brisk day at the Botanical Gardens for Nicole and Matt’s wedding. Guests were gathering excitedly, but they would have to wait a bit since Nicole was running late! A not so uncommon wedding day occurrence. When I found her, she seemed nervous that she didn’t look perfect or things weren’t going perfect, and I knew I was seeing classic wedding day jitters. Matt was patiently waiting, smirking in a way that showed he knew Nicole and that she would be ready when she was ready! Soon enough though, nerves aside, they were ready for the big moment. They made their way outside, and joined each other, smiling and laughing, and Nicole cracking a few jokes throughout. It was a perfect moment for them, and soon enough they were kissing as husband and wife!
Congratulations Matt and Nicole! I’m so happy you got the exact moment you were hoping for, and I wish you a lifetime of more perfect moments!

May 24th was an awesome day at Resurgence Brewing Company. I’m getting more and more weddings there and let me tell you, I love it! I arrived to Sarah and Michael, looking wonderful and being excited, and perhaps a bit nervous since they forgot their marriage license. But mom and dad were to the rescue! I love couples that are just vibing and having a great time, and they don’t sweat the small stuff. They know it will all work out in the end, and it did! Soon enough, Michael and I were watching the beautiful Sarah make her way down the aisle to him. Even though they had just been hanging out, they looked so happy to see each other again, in this particular spot, saying these particular words. It was an amazing moment, and soon they were happily kissing as husband and wife!
Congratulations Michael and Sarah! I wish you a lifetime of laughter and love!

May 23rd knew it was a spring day in Buffalo, and therefore could do whatever it wanted for Ashley and Ryan’s wedding. It started the day raining, and then left us with a windy chill that we were all ready to brave in the name of love! At O’Brien’s Sleepy Hollow, it still looked beautiful outside, and under the tent was warm and snug. We just had to get through the ceremony!
Ashley looked beautiful when I arrived, friends adding the finishing touches, making sure she had her vows, and was feeling good. Ryan had on a wonderful colored suit and was eager to meet his bride at the altar. Soon enough, we were all heading outside, to start this gorgeous moment. I loved that a few minutes in, Ashley was like, just because I have this stunning dress on doesn’t mean I need to be cold, and had her mom bring up her jean jacket. It was such a funny and sweet moment and everyone loved it. Their vows were long and passionate and hilarious and everything else you could want in them. People hung on every loving word. And then it was time to kiss and make it official and get out of the cold!
Congratulations Ryan and Ashley! I’m so glad you found each other and will be there to care for each other for the rest of your lives!

Friday, May 16th, I found myself at the very cool Resurgence Brewing Company for Victoria & Jeffrey’s wedding! I had time to look around the space and admire all of their decorations as they got some extra pictures taken. When they did arrive, they looked wonderful and ready to go! It was a long asile up to the front, so I got to really enjoy them walking out, taking in Victoria’s gorgeous dress and seeing the happy faces of their friends and family in the audience. Soon enough they were standing face to face, repeating vows, smiling as they put on their rings, and vowing to love each other for all of their days. Congratulations Jeffrey and Victoria! It was a perfect moment and I hope you loved every second, and the many, many more seconds to come!

Nothing beats a Wednesday wedding! It sure breaks up the week and I was happy to find myself on May 14th at the Botanical Gardens for Jennifer & Robert’s wedding. I loved these two. They lived 1000 miles apart and found a love so strong it was pulling them together no matter what! Robert was there greeting guests, looking a bit nervous, but I could tell excited as well. When Jennifer arrived she looked so lovely and I knew that this was going to be such a special moment for them. They held hands, smiling, and performed a unity sand ceremony, combining colors that they could keep forever. And like the whirlwind it always is, soon enough they were kissing as husband and wife! Congratulations Robert and Jennifer. You’re truly made for each other. Enjoy your new life in Canada!
