YellowBird Wedding

because simple is beautiful

October 9th was a stunning day for a stunning couple. At Hayloft in the Grove, I found Natalie and Tyler eagerly awaiting their wedding moment. Tyler was possibly in the more nervous camp. I got the vibe that being in front of all of these people maybe wasn’t his thing, but once I found excited Natalie looking so beautiful, I knew that he was going to completely forget the other people once he stood across from her. And that’s what happened! As a couple who met when they were kids and ended up here, you couldn’t have found a more excited crowd. It seemed that not just the couple, but everyone had been waiting for this moment. And soon enough it was happening. They shared in a traditional handfasting ceremony where they bound their hands together as another sign of their unity. After that, they were kissing as husband and wife as the barn erupted in applause. Congratulations Tyler and Natalie! I was so happy to share this moment with you and a wish you a lifetime of happiness.

October 8th was being a very cheeky fall day. While it could not have looked any more beautiful at Knox Farm State Park for Alex and Eric’s wedding…it could have been warmer. Outdoor weddings are always so beautiful and my heart breaks a bit when it’s chilly out. It was still a wonderful day, but I had mad respect for Alex in her dress!
When I arrived I found the couple happily spending time together, seeming very calm for this big moment. Probably because they had the best wedding planner Petite Soirée working for them! Guests were happily gathering together and waiting for the event to finally start. We made our way outside and my low key officiant fears were kicking in that my ceremony would blow away (don’t get me started on my stress dreams), but the wind worked in our favor for the most part. The thing about wonderful couples is, once they stand at that alter together and you can see the love between them, you don’t notice things like the cold anymore. You just notice them and this moment and how lucky you are to share in it!
After their vows everything moved so quickly and soon enough I was pronouncing them husband and wife! Congratulations Eric and Alex! I can see such a wonderful future ahead for the two of you and a lifetime of happiness. All my love!

October 1st was a whirlwind of a day with TWO weddings! First I found myself at the Botanical Gardens for Stacey and Kevin’s wedding. They are such a sweet couple that you somehow feel better after spending time with. Things felt calm and ready to get going at the Gardens which, as always, looked beautiful with flowers filling the room that their guests gathered in. You could really feel the love between them as they shared their vows and kissed so happily as husband and wife!

It was similar with Jess and Justin. Another couple simply made for each other, there was a bit more joking around here (especially with the groomsmen), and they too seemed ready to go! Maybe a little peeking of nervies from Jess, but that’s what I like to see! I get to see such a rainbow of emotions on wedding days and I get a kick out of all of them. Jess and Justin had a gorgeous outside spot at The Lockstone, and the beauty matched their personalities. Soon enough they too were kissing as husband and wife!

Congratulations Kevin & Stacey and Justin & Jess! I couldn’t have asked for a better way to spend a lovely fall day and I’m honored I got to spend it with all of you! Much love always!

September 18th was amazing. Not only was it gorgeous out, but I was at the gorgeous Botanical Gardens marrying the GORGEOUS Noelle & P.J.! And with my favorite SMW Photography! Noelle and P.J. are such an amazing couple and I felt so lucky to be there with them. I first found Noelle hiding out with her bridesmaids, looking like she just walked off of the cover of a bridal magazine, completely ready and excited for this moment. I then found P.J., looking incredibly handsome, even with his slightly nervous pacing. I could tell they both were very ready for this moment to happen. I stood in the sunshine with P.J. as we watched Noelle make her debut and walk towards him, and he was so overcome with love, the tears welled up in his eyes and fell down his cheeks. It was a really beautiful showing of love and what I adore most about performing weddings. Once they were together they looked so happy and right, and through their friends reading, and their vows, and of course their first kiss, everything was perfect and as it should be. Congratulations P.J. and Noelle! It was such a pleasure to meet you and share in such a stunning moment. I wish you the happiest lives together.

September 10th was a perfect day at Woodlynn Hills Golf Course. I was so happy to see Claire and Tyler getting ready (separately) for their big moment. As much as I love a first look, I also really love when a groom sees his bride for the first time when she’s walking down the aisle! Their ceremony spot was so lovely, on the water with a giant weeping willow tree next to them. It matched their beautiful personalities and their loving relationship. They wrote their own beautiful vows and (as always) I was getting choked up as Tyler was tearing up through his vows. All in all, it was such a magical moment, I could have shared it with them all day. But soon enough they were Mr. & Mrs. and getting ready to start their new life together! Congratulations Tyler and Claire. I wish you a lifetime of beauty and happiness!

September 3rd was a lovely day at St. Joseph’s Park in Rochester. Aaron was milling about the very cool outdoor space as guests slowly gathered. Stephanie was hiding out with her bridal party, but when I saw her I could see she was just as excited and nervous as he was! Everyone was eager for the moment to begin, and soon enough Aaron and I were side by side as Stephanie made her way out. They hugged so much at the altar because they missed each other during the day 😭.
When they got to their vows, we did some standard ones, but then they added in some personalized ones that had all the guests laughing. It’s such a great moment to really see a couple open up and share some of the intimate and beautiful moments of their life. Those are my favorite moments and any wedding! After that, they were kissing for the first time as a married couple. Congratulations Aaron and Stephanie! Anyone could see this was a moment meant to be and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

August 27th was very exciting for me. Not just because I got to marry the wonderful Becca and Bob, but because I got to do it at a new spot! If you’ve followed along, you know that after the amount of weddings I’ve done, it’s not often I see a new spot. But I got to experience Kin Loch Farmstead and what an experience it was! It’s seriously beautiful. A stunner of a spot. Not only is the barn and the grounds lovely, but you actually walk down a path into a wooded area for the ceremony. It feels secluded and gorgeous and a perfect spot to say “I do.”
I found the couple, happy and nervous, ready to have their moment. After Bob and I went to the altar, talked about the very large snake that had been there right before us, we waited for Becca to make her beautiful debut. It was a very special moment, light breeze through the trees, and I couldn’t have hoped for anything better for such a deserving couple. Soon enough they were kissing as husband and wife and I was cheering along with everyone else! Congratulations Bob & Becca! I’m so happy you got to have such a lovely day and I wish you so many more in your future!

It was a nervous run up to August 26th, so I was very happy to see Kate and Kyle at the Avanti Mansion. Pretty much only days before, Kyle was suffering with shingles and the couple was about as stressed as they could be. But everything went so well for Kyle, that his groomsmen were throwing him in the air to celebrate! When I saw Kate she looked so beautiful and happy and relieved that this moment was happening. Everyone was excited for the couple that had been together for so long and were finally making it official.
Kyle and I made our way to the altar, sweating our butts off, but in a happy way. Kate made her walk down the stairs and Kyle was teary eyed and I felt very moved by the whole moment. They held hands and smiled at each other, and laughed out loud as they swatted a bee that had landed on Kyle’s head! It was a very genuine moment and I could see that all of their guests were very affected by everything. Soon enough they were kissing as husband and wife! Congratulations Kyle and Katelyn! It was a perfect moment for the two of you and I know you’ll have many wonderful moments ahead of you!!!

I found myself at one of my favorite venues on July 31st, O’Brien’s Sleepy Hollow for Lauren and Max’s wedding. It started off with a bang as the D.J. was an old friend from high school, and just got better and better from that point on. Lauren looked amazing, even though she was feeling nervous that her look wasn’t perfect. I was thinking, if she doesn’t look perfect now, I don’t think I’ve ever looked good in my life!!! Max was hanging with his son, very excited to get things started. We all knew he was going to think Lauren looked like a vision, so I was eager to get to the altar so she could walk out to join him. Soon enough we were waiting for his bride to make her entrance, and what an entrance it was. When they found each other they smiled and laughed, and I’m pretty sure entered their own world where they didn’t hear a word I said, but focused on each other and the little guy. I’m happy to be a part of all different kinds of ceremonies, but when I was done gabbing, they were in each others arms, kissing as husband and wife. Congratulations Max and Lauren! It was a lovely moment meant for the two of you, and I wish you so many more in your future.

July 30th was a beautiful day with two beautiful people. I got to check in with Colin and Kate at The Mansion on Delaware for their big day. Colin looked dapper and excited for everything to begin. Kate had just finished getting dressed and I got to watch all of her closest friends and family first see her all done up, and gush over her! It was such a sweet moment, experiencing how lovely she looked through the facial expressions of her bridal party. Soon enough I was able to see her, and she looked wonderful and ready to marry her love. When I was outside with Colin, I watched him as he watched Kate walk towards him, both of them beaming and thrilled for this moment to have arrived. I love weddings like this. The couple is so invested in the moment. They are smiling at each other, listening to me, reflecting, and completely present for this experience. It really did feel special, especially as I announced them for the first time as a married couple. Congratulations Colin and Kate! You are such a perfect couple and I wish you so much love and joy in your future!
