YellowBird Wedding

because simple is beautiful

June 24th was a perfect wedding day, especially at The Old Orchard Inn! Abby and Patrick had picked a perfect spot for the two of them, and I knew this was going to be a beautiful moment. They both seemed pretty calm when I arrived, but I watched the emotion grow and then peak during the ceremony! As they made their way to their gorgeous alter, with a pond behind them and a light breeze, it really seemed out of a movie. They looked at each other, but as the ceremony went on and got more personal and emotional, I watched Patrick look away a lot to hide his emotions. I see this a lot and it’s very sweet. Although everyone wants their groom or bride to look at them the whole time, keep in mind sometimes people look away because they are IN THE MOMENT and don’t wanna lose it in front of a group. It’s truly a beautiful thing. They grabbed hands and found some light moments and some laughter throughout. After their candle ceremony, which they were very determined to light against the winds wishes (and did!), they were kissing as husband and wife!
Congratulations Patrick and Abby! You are so lovely together and I’m excited thinking about your future life together. Much love!

What a fun day June 23rd was at Wurlitzer Events! While Kristen and Eddie both don’t love attention on them, they still seemed pretty excited for their wedding day. Ok, maybe Eddie seemed a little more nervous. But they sure looked good! I checked in with both and while the nerves were there, you could tell how happy they were as well. The space really fit them, filled with beauty and games, and I knew that after the nerves of the ceremony wore off, they were going to have an amazing evening. They made their way out in front of their guests and then they seemed to be only focused on each other. They made it through their vows and then it was time for the sand ceremony. It was a bit hot and muggy in the room and it seemed the sand had other ideas than being gently poured into a symbolic container. It pretty much stayed put and everyone had a good laugh about it, including the couple. After that you could see they were completely themselves and happily kissed when the moment arrived.
Congratulations Eddie and Kristen! You’re such a perfect couple and I see nothing but happiness in your future!

There is truly nothing better than a Thursday wedding. Thursdays can be so boring. You’re just wishing it over so it can be Friday and then the weekend, but that is NOT how June 8th felt. At Maison Albion, I was having a great time, along with all of Bianka and Mike’s guests for their weekday wedding! When I first arrived, I found Mike entertaining so many guests. I don’t think he got a second to himself, but he was happy telling stories and being excited for this moment. Bianka was upstairs looking stunning, completely relaxed and ready for the moment to begin. We excitedly talked about Budapest where I had just come from and where she is from and I think we could have talked on and on if we didn’t have a wedding to attend 😉
Soon enough, Mike and I were outside watching the wedding party make their way down, and then of course the showstopper that was Bianka. They shared such a beautiful moment together and you could see their love in their big first kiss! Congratulations Mike and Bianka! You’re so lovely together and I’m so happy this moment happened for you (including so many obstacles on the way)! Best of luck always.

June 3rd I found myself at Kin Event Space in Rochester for Laura and Cory’s wedding. I can’t even describe how cute these two are! I’m pretty sure from the moment they were both at the altar together, tears were happening. It was truly beautiful to see how happy and moved they were by this moment. I could tell they were really listening to everything I was saying, and were relating to how they words described them and their relationship. I looked out at the audience at one point and could see how moved everyone was. Soon enough they were kissing as Mr. & Mrs.! Congratulations Cory and Laura. I know you have so many happy days ahead of you and I’m so glad I got to share in this moment!

I love weddings at Pearl at the Webb. It’s a beautiful space and I feel that they get a lot of Buffalove weddings. And that was the case on April 29th for Trisha and Tony’s wedding! Bills paraphernalia? ✔ A dog in the ceremony? ✔ A happy and loving couple? ✔ Buffalo weddings rule!
I found Tony hanging out with his kids and their lovely puppers, eagerly awaiting the moment. When Trisha made her appearance she looked beautiful and happy. You could tell how much this moment meant to them. Also Tony walking down the aisle to the Rocky theme song, you really understood what a fun couple they are. Things got serious though for the ceremony. They looked at each other with love and feeling, and through their smiles I could feel the emotion. There was an uproarious cheer when they finally kissed as husband and wife. Congratulations Tony and Trisha! I wish you a long and happy life together, and all the pets Daphne can handle!

Ok, let me tell you, April 28th was a blast! I was lucky enough to find myself at 500 Pearl for Stephanie and Charles wedding! I know Stephanie, who is a wedding photographer (smwphotography), simply from so many weddings we’ve shared. And after getting to know each other a bit, she decided that she wanted me to marry her and her husband and I was honored! What I didn’t know is how much the two of them would make me laugh!
When I first arrived, Stephanie was nervous…with a large splash of anxious. I was surprised because Charles couldn’t have possibly been more chill, and after so many weddings I figured this would be commonplace for Stephanie. I. Was. Wrong. She immediately told me to start cutting out chunks of the ceremony to make it shorter which was hilarious and which I of course did (and more on the fly while I was performing the ceremony) and was explaining how much she hated being in front of people. I truly understood as soon as Stephanie made her way up the aisle to Charles and grabbed his hands…then his arms…then his shoulders…then stood way back from him…then toe to toe. And this went on the entire time. It was so cute! The guests loved it. You could see how nervous but excited she was. And there was Charles, keeping her as calm as he could and you knew she would only be able to do this with him by her side. After torturing her for a short time, I finally pronounced them husband and wife and the excitedly kissed and excitedly got back down that aisle! Congratulations Charles and Stephanie! I’m so glad to have met both of you and next time I see you Stephanie you won’t be enjoying such a day off! Best wishes!

April 15th was a lovely spring day, especially at the Hotel Lafayette for Angelica and Sean’s wedding. I saw the happy couple when I first arrived and they already seemed jazzed and ready to start the party. Which was saying a lot since Angelica had torn her ACL just days before. Her sneakers made her wedding gown look even better! By the time Angelica was walking down the aisle to where Sean and I stood, you wouldn’t know they had been casually hanging out with each other just minutes before. They both looked so emotionally hit by the moment and it was like they were seeing each other for the first time in a long time. It was a beautiful moment that continued through their vows and exchanged rings until finally it was time to grab one another for that kiss and a hug that spoke of so much love. Congratulations Sean and Angelica! You’re such a lovely couple and I’m sure there is a happy future ahead of you for all time!

March 25th was exciting because I got to check out a new venue, 500 Pearl, and I got to see Megan and Ji in person! They were so much fun when we first met and I knew this would be a special wedding. After I got lost inside the venue for a bit 😂 I found them inside their room with their wedding party, already having a great time. They seemed so happy and ready for this moment. It didn’t feel like something that made them nervous, but the most natural thing in the world. I stood at the altar with Ji as Megan made her way up, and then I saw all the emotion hit them (which is my favorite part of this whole thing)! They seemed very moved, but kept is all together to get through the amazing moment as I watched the audience cry around them. You could just tell how vested everyone was in this relationship and what a happy moment that was created when Megan and Ji said “I do.” Congratulations Ji and Megan! You’re such a well matched couple and I see such a happy life before you. Much love!

My first wedding of 2023 was on January 28th, and I was lucky enough to spend it at the Avanti Mansion with Melissa and William! They are such a sweet, quiet couple, and I was excited to see how they would react to each other on their big day. I found them both so joyful that the moment was here, seeing each other and then darting back to their separate spaces with their party. I checked in with family, made sure the correct people knew how the lighter worked for the candle ceremony (I’ve see mishaps…) and then headed up to the front to watch them walk in! Melissa came down from a grand staircase and then the two were face to face in front of everyone. I could feel some nerves, but as I began to speak and describe their love, I saw them loosen up and eventually laugh, and after their vows, they were holding hands and back to themselves, just a couple people in love, lucky enough to be getting married. Congratulations William and Melissa! There is no doubt the two of you were made for each other and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Thank you so much to all of our couples who have left us the most generous and beautiful reviews over the years. This means the world to us and we don’t take any of it for granted. Looking forward to another love filled year!
