On May 19th I headed to the Niagara Falls Sheraton for Geraldine and Christian’s wedding. Their reception was in a different room than their lovely ceremony, and it was closed off to guests until later, so sadly I didn’t get any pictures of what I know must have been a beautifully decorated space. When I arrived I found the vendor coordinator trying her best to keep the runner down and free from guests feet, which is usually a losing battle. I found Geraldine and Christian hanging out in a separate space, with their wedding party, just chilling and trying to feel calm. I had to laugh when Geraldine asked me how to tie a Fisherman’s Knot, which was a part of their ceremony. I sure don’t know how, so couples if you’re gonna do that, you’re gonna have to learn beforehand. Luckily, even though it’s the strongest of all the knots, it’s the easiest to tie, so they figured it out before the big moment.
There were many guests inside, almost all of them with giant cameras, so I knew people were very excited for this to happen. Christian was escorted out and then the wedding party and we waiting for Geraldine to make her beautiful entrance. There was live music including a singer, and it was truly a lovely moment. There were some tears, but they mostly kept it together, and guests laughed when Geraldine pulled her phone out to read her vows. After their Fisherman’s Knot (which they nailed), they actually did a Canadian custom of having the marriage license signed during the ceremony. Their best man and maid of honor made it official! After that all there was left to do was kiss as husband and wife! Congratulations Christian and Geraldine! You’re so perfectly matched that I know you’ll have a full and happy life together. Best wishes!
