Katie and Rob love a lot of the same things, including zoos, so when they laid their eyes on the Holimont Ski Resort, then knew that they had found the place for their wedding. And what a place it was! A gorgeous rustic building, their was a balcony for guests to watch their outdoor ceremony. A perfect day for a wedding as well, and since Rob and his groomsmen were in kilts, I’m sure they were happy it wasn’t too cold out! Katie and Rob had seen each other beforehand, but were hiding out in different spots waiting for the ceremony to start. As Katie waited upstairs with her bridesmaids, Rob chatted up guests downstairs and waited for the stroke of 5:30 to take his spot on the alter. A spot with, I might add, two perfect gourds creating a heart. I love autumn! Soon then, after two adorable ring bearers in kilts, Katie made her way down with a huge smile on her face. I was also excited that the best man was a past groom of mine! He took his new responsibilities seriously as he tied Katie and Rob’s hands together in an ancient handfasting ceremony. The binding of the hands is where the expression “tying the knot” comes from, and it was fantastic to watch. After they were untied, it was soon time for the kiss and for them to officially be husband and wife! Congratulations Katie & Rob! I’m so glad that now when you visit your next 50 zoos, you can as husband and wife!
