YellowBird Wedding

because simple is beautiful

You know what I love? A morning wedding! So I was thrilled on October 20th to find myself, at 11:00am, at the Commissioner’s Cabin in Chestnut Ridge. If you haven’t discovered this place yet, you are missing out! It’s the coziest cabin, with a roaring fire, a perfect sized kitchen, room for tables and guests and some dancing, while outside it’s trees and falling leaves and a pond. Truly, a dream place. I’m always so happy when I find myself here for a wedding. And when the wedding is Lauren and Adam’s, it’s just the cherry on top.
When I arrived I found Lauren curling a guests hair and Adam outside talking to guests and overall looking so happy! And then it got even better when friends of mine showed up as guests, and brought numerous umbrellas because a light rain had started. But that wasn’t an issue for Lauren and Adam. As I waited outside with Adam under an umbrella, out came Lauren, escorted by her dad, looking simply radiant. Like they both couldn’t be happier to see each other. When Lauren stopped at Adam’s side, no longer with an umbrella, he immediately chose to stand in the rain and give her his. And by the time they were saying their vows and wanted to hold hands, both umbrellas were gone and it was decided that getting a little wet didn’t matter so long as they had each other. Such a lovely moment and I was thrilled when I finally got to tell Adam to kiss his bride! Congratulations Adam and Lauren. You’re such a wonderful, well matched couple and I know you’ll have a lifetime of beauty ahead of you.

Holy moly was October 6th a beautiful day! And being in Allegany State Park, as the leaves were halfway into their colorful change, was a dream. And I was lucky enough to be there for Bri and Jake’s stunning outdoor wedding. They are a low key couple who love nature and knew they wanted to spend their big day, outdoors, with friends, family, and so many dogs! I think half the guests brought their puppers who were sitting on the benches next to them. Looking out into the audience was adorable! I found Bri when I got there, a calm and beautiful bride, just happy to have this lovely day to share with Jake. And he was the same way when he arrived, two people so comfortable outdoors and with their dogs Mason and Sadie, that I knew this was a perfect moment. After a few music hiccups, it was time to begin, and they made their way out to the amphitheater, in front of everyone, and held hands, said their vows, and happily kissed as husband and wife. You just knew from the crowds reaction that this was going to be an amazing party after! Congratulations Jake and Bri! I’m so happy that I got to spend one of the best days of the year with the two of you. I wish you a lifetime of perfect fall days!

September 30th was a perfect weather day and how lucky are Emilee and Evan that it was also their wedding day?! At the Foundry, it couldn’t have been nicer in their courtyard, where chairs were being set up for Emilee and Evan’s big moment. When I found the couple, it truly couldn’t have been more adorable. Firstly, Emilee looked so beautiful, but I barely got the words out of my mouth before she was complimenting me and telling me how cute I looked 😂 I mean, how cute it that? And then sweet Evan, who was so nervous that he was going over simple thing multiple times, and all I could do was smile and respond to him so that he would feel better. They were opposites in that moment, one calm and one going around checking that everything was perfect. It’s what makes them such a good couple. And soon enough they were outside, sharing their handwritten vows that were incredibly moving that made them tear up and laugh. The vows were so moving that after each one finished, they kissed the other! I love when couples can’t wait until the end to share their love with each other. It was such a wonderful moment that I was almost sad when it ended! But they needed to be pronounced husband and wife so they could kiss for the third time! Congratulations Evan and Emilee! You’re such a beautiful couple and I wish you a lifetime of happiness together.

September 19th couldn’t have been more intimate or lovely. With just Brenda and Andy, sneaking away to elope at the Japanese Gardens. They were shy, but happy and I enjoyed every moment I spent with the private, nature loving, beautiful couple. Congratulations Andy and Brenda! Meeting the two of you made me so happy and I’m honored to have shared in this moment!

September 17th at Spring Lake Winery was a beautiful day. Exactly what Sarah and John hoped for to celebrate their big day. They were both so happy and excited when I met up with them. Little bit of nerves, but mostly just pure exhilaration. And you could really understand their excitement when the ceremony started and it was just perfect. A reading by Sarah’s Gram was so adorable, their vows were beautiful and touching, and their unity candle, which gave them some trouble in the wind, was hilarious and everyone laughed along with them. Nothing was really going to upset them on the day they became husband and wife. And soon enough they were! Congratulations John and Sarah! I was so happy to share in this amazing day with you. I foresee such a lifetime of happiness!

Another beautiful day at the Timberlodge on September 9th, that I got to spend happily making Kali and Josh husband and wife! They were very into the idea as well 😂 Both of them looked stunning, and it was a big, emotion filled day, with Kali having a private moment with her dad I had to drag myself away from, to Josh bringing pure light into every space he occupied. I knew these two would very excitedly kiss when it was time and I sure wasn’t wrong! Congratulations Josh and Kali! You’re such a beautiful couple and I know you’ll have a beautiful life together!

September 2nd was a perfect day for a wedding, especially in a wooded area like they have at Kin Loch! Sarah and Chase were both very excited for this moment. Ok, Chase seemed a little nervous, concerned about rain, about guests, about lots of wedding day things when you want everything to be perfect. Sarah on the other hand looked amazing and felt amazing and was ready for this to happen!
As I stood at the altar with Chase, I could tell he was going to wreck me emotionally 😂. He was already getting tears in his eyes as soon as he saw Sarah turn the corner. And I understood why! Such a couple! You could just feel the love coming off of them. And when they shared their vows, forget about it. I SAID FORGET ABOUT IT. It was so sweet and there was so much crying I could barely keep it together. But somehow we all made it to me pronouncing them husband and wife and a kiss to remember. Congratulations Chase and Sarah! It was such a lovely day for a lovely couple and I wish you nothing but the best!

The Foundry couldn’t have looked any better on August 26 for Sabina and Ben’s wedding. Not only was it beautiful and elegant, but they had a dog snack bar so you could take home treats to your furry friends. The best couples find me. I checked in with them and they both looked gorgeous and ready to get started. The sky was being a little threatening, you could tell it wanted to rain, but I felt confident Sabina and Ben were gonna have their courtyard wedding perfectly dry (after 500 weddings, I get a real feel for the weather 😁). And it turned out that the moment was as perfect as could be, with guests surrounding the couple with a ceremony in the round, and everyone knew they were a part of something special. After their vows and kiss (and a dip kiss happened as well) it was time to announce them as husband and wife! Congratulations Ben and Sabina! You’re such a lovely couple and I know there will be wonderful things in your future. Much love!

I was one of the first people to arrive at Tewksbury Lodge on August 19th for Stephanie and Jack’s wedding, so I got peek around and how amazing everything looked. There was some behind the scenes worry about family members that couldn’t make it, but when Jack arrived, excited and nervous, I can happily say things were back on track! He stood outside in the back shielding his eyes, as Stephanie and her entourage arrived and snuck her in the front door. No peeking for these two! Guests were sitting outside on the water on a beautiful day and it felt like it couldn’t get much better. Soon enough, Jack and I stood with our backs to the party boats and people enjoying the gorgeous August day and watched Stephanie as she was escorted down the aisle and to her groom who was eagerly waiting. She looked beautiful and happy and while they both seemed quite nervous, they made it through their vows and to the end where they were finally kissing and seeming so much more relaxed!
Congratulations Jack and Stephanie! You had the perfect day that you both deserved and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!
