YellowBird Wedding

because simple is beautiful

The first thing that I noticed at the Hamlin House on Franklin St. in Buffalo on New Year’s Eve, was how shockingly beautiful and classy everything looked. The next thing would be that you could actually feel the love flowing through the air like electricity on your skin. Katie was gorgeous in her strapless beaded gown and Cory was all smiles waiting for his bride downstairs. Every wedding is emotional, but these two made it almost impossible for me to hold my own tears in! Bride and Groom had no problem wearing their hearts on their sleeves as they freely smiled, held hands, cried, whispered, and laughed together. I wouldn’t have wanted to do anything different to celebrate my own New Year’s Eve. I was all smiles for the rest of the night as well. Thank you Katie & Cory for letting me be a part of your amazing day. ❤

On Friday December 30th I was lucky enough to spend the evening with Jim & Angel at Michael’s in Hamburg, and celebrate with them their wedding day! Jim looked dashing in his army formals and I couldn’t stop smiling as I watch him pace around nervously before the ceremony and then relax and smile as Angel glided down the aisle representing her name more than she knew. I feel very fortunate everyday that I get to join a beautiful couple in union. Congratulations to Jim and Angel!!! ❤

The air outside on Saturday night (12/10) was chilly, but you wouldn’t have known it from inside the Millennium Hotel! The only thing you could feel in the air was love as Renee walked down the wooden staircase, looking gorgeous, into DeAndre’s hands. I realize after every wedding how lucky I am to meet such fantastic people and to be a part of their beautiful day. Hopefully there will be pictures to come. And don’t worry Renee, I know your love of scrap booking, so I’ll be sure to send you your ceremony! <3<3<3

Ok, perhaps no one is crazy about winter. But winter weddings can prove to be a beautiful event. Not to mention a lot of places will give you a discount on your reception if it’s one of the chillier months. So try and remember those moments in life that you thought snow has looked beautiful, that a fire feels better when it’s cold outside, and a fancy bridal coat could be your favorite purchase.

I’ve never had a bride bring me so close to tears as Jackie did Thursday (11/10) night in Niagara Falls. Brent and Jackie met in Brazil a couple years ago and it was pretty clear from their giant smiles, excited movements, and tears that they were meant to find each other.

Brent and Jackie were married in their hotel room with only three guest, and yet it managed to be beautiful. It goes to show that you don’t need a big wedding to have a perfect moment. All you need is love. I’m so happy I got to be a part of this day.

This has been a busy and beautiful week in Buffalo.
On Saturday October 29th I was lucky enough to marry Elizabeth & Dale, an exceptional couple who had a large ceremony at the Tonawanda Castle. I’m pretty sure I’ll never get over how adorable Elizabeth’s Grandpa was. I almost snuck him out and took him with me! Hopefully there will be pictures to come!

On Wednesday 11022011 my friends who love palidromes were married…twice!  Congratulations to Christine & Jeff who were married outdoors at the eternal flame (it was so beautiful and romantic) and then again later in the day at Kotecki’s in West Seneca. I loved marrying them so much I’d do it a third time!
