YellowBird Wedding

because simple is beautiful

Saturday September 21st was a rainy day, but the best kind! Not only were the streets covered with gigantic puddles, but there was still a warm breeze in the air. Over at Karpeles Manuscript Museum, Danielle sure didn’t care at all. The first thing she said to me was “I wish I could go jump in puddles!” She looked much to beautiful for that though! The couple eagerly anticipated the moment, keeping separate from each other as they waited for the big reveal. Danielle and Adam got engaged at Disney, had a Disney themed runner, played Disney music for their guests, AND followed it all up with a Disney honeymoon! With people that compatible, it’s no wonder they were getting married! Finally the moment arrived and they held hands and locked eyes at the alter. Such giant smiles! I felt really happy to share in the moment with them, and it felt extra special since Danielle recently started working at the same library I do! Who doesn’t love marrying colleagues?! All the best to both Adam and Danielle. When I met you a year ago I knew you were perfect for each other, and that feeling has only intensified getting to know you better. A lifetime of happiness!

Good bye haunted Grand Island Holiday Inn, hello Byblos Niagara Resort and Spa! That’s where I was on Saturday September 14th for Sarah and Jim’s big day. The Friday before was cold. Very cold. And raining. And I’m sure the happy couple was freaking out thinking about their outdoor wedding the next day. Well talk about lucky, because the next day the temperature went up about 30 degrees and gave them a wedding day to remember. The violinist walked around serenading guests before the couple made their way down. It was so sunny out and Sarah joked about how she could barely see Jim, but that didn’t stop the tears from welling up in her eyes. And it didn’t stop Jim from getting choked up during his vows, which immediately caused everyone of the bridesmaids to choke up! It was a lovely day for a lovey couple. I wish the two of you nothing but the best and continue loving each other like you have since 8th grade!

Friday the 13th: Part II
I’m so happy I just got to type that! But really my second Friday the 13th wedding was awesome! I felt an instant connection to Lauren and Darrin when I first met them. They are my doppelganger couple and I pretty much find everything they do adorable. Their wedding was no exception. It was at my favorite spot (as you know by now), Pearl Street and it couldn’t have looked better. Including a Jason Voorhees cake topper surrounded by cupcakes from Fairy Cakes! Darrin and Lauren looked so happy when they stood next to each other with Darrin’s kids around them, that I’m pretty sure I could have said anything and they wouldn’t have noticed. They were all about each other. Smiling and laughing and joking the whole time as their guests gushed around them. I was so happy to be a part of their day and feel lucky at how many new and amazing people I get to meet every year. And they let me take home two cupcakes, so yeah, I’ve got a lot of love for them. Congratulations Lauren and Darrin! I’m so glad I met both of you and that you’re together forever. No other way made sense.

So it was Friday the 13th. But for a couples whose first date was at Fright World, this was no big deal. So on September 13th, Lindsey and Vaughan met at the ever gorgeous Karpeles Manuscript Museum to tell that world that they would love each other forever…and Back to the Future as well. Because they love that a lot. It was chilly outside with light rain, but all you could feel was the warmth from their guests who smiled and hugged and chatted excitedly about the to-be moment. When Lindsey and Vaughan did arrive (in two matching Rolls Royces) it was time for the beauty to begin. Vaughan was the smiliest groom I think I’ve had yet! They held hands and teared up as we made it through their ceremony to one giant and excited kiss! After that, they walked down the grand steps at Karpeles as their guests showered them with rose petals. What a day! Congratulations Vaughan and Lindsey. I’m so happy the two of you found someone who is somehow so different and yet so perfect for you.  A lifetime of happiness!

Somehow Becker Farms looks even more beautiful when it’s full of beautiful people. And that was the case on Friday September 6th, as Joey and Bruce arrived for their big day. It was an ideal day for an outdoor wedding. It wasn’t hot or cold, it was magical! Everyone gathered around right on time looking excited for this moment to finally happen. As I walked out with Bruce he was cool as a cucumber, standing up front looking relaxed and eager. Of course when Joey walked out, looking stunning, he suddenly looked a little more nervous than before! They both were the perfect amount of nervous, holding hands, giving half smiles, and small laughs. I watched both of them fight back tears for 15 minutes, which is no easy task! When that final moment came, they were almost in each others arms before I finished saying “you can now kiss the bride.” Now that’s love! Congratulations to a wonderful couple! I’m so glad to two of you found each other and I know the happiness you felt this day will continue on throughout your life.

Back to back Banchetti by Rizzo’s weddings and you won’t hear any complaints from me! It’s a beautiful spot and looked amazing on August 24th for Melissa & Robert. When I first got there, Robert and his groomsmen were throwing out all the usual jokes. That they could be heading to Canada, that they could hide me and go drink instead. It’s pretty common from the guys, but when the bride walks out, the groom always stops joking when he sees how beautiful his wife to be is! Melissa was a little nervous, practicing her breathing as we waited for the moment to start. When it did, it was so lovely. A lot of couples are nervous and I think miss a lot of the ceremony, but Melissa and Robert heard every word and responded and reacted to the description of their relationship, which I love! Their sand ceremony with sand from Japan (where they met) made it a unique and perfect moment. Congratulations Melissa and Robert! You met each other thousands of miles from home, but knew that this was the person that would become your home. I wish you nothing but the best!

Sunday August 18th was a beautiful day! If you’re having an outdoor wedding, this is the kind of day you spend most of the year hoping for. The gazebo at Banchetti by Rizzo was just waiting for Corey and Michael to get up there and get married! Corey hid behind a parasol as she came out and waited for the big moment. After some late comers hurried to their spot, the groomsmen and bridesmaids made their way to the front single file. Then everyone turned to see Michael escorting his bride to be to their alter. My favorite moment was when I told Michael it was time for his vows and he looked at me with nerves running wild and told me to make Corey go first. It was hilarious! They made it through that, lovely as expected, and then stepped up into the gazebo to light their unity candle and unite both of their lives together. It was a beautiful moment and a happy, happy day! Congratulations Corey and Michael! After so many years of having to be apart, you are finally together forever! You’re rainy evenings are over…Much love from me to you!

A beautiful day spent at Becker Farms, is a wonderful day. A beautiful day spent at Becker Farms with Kim and Angelo (not to mention Ayres Photography) is a perfect day! The sun was shining as Angelo, his best man, and myself stood in the grape vineyards waiting for the big moment to begin. The air was filled with the gorgeous sounds of a harp as guests filed in and chose their seats. At one point Angelo’s dad called because we were so busy admiring the beauty around us, they lost track of us in the vineyard! Luckily, Angelo was there and waiting for his beautiful bride. When Kim came out, she looked amazing. She walked down to Angelo with tears already in her eyes, and he soon followed suit. It was difficult for me to make it through the vows because they were both so moving and emotional. After they kissed, I kind of wanted to hug them both because it was such a touching moment! Congratulations Kim and Angelo. I’m so happy that we were able to meet and connect over the internet and that I was able to share in this day. You’re a beautiful couple and I wish you nothing but the best!

Saturday August 17th was a beautiful day! Especially in a lovely back yard in Niagara Falls with the always gorgeous Naia getting ready for her big day. If I had awards to give out, I think Naia and Joe would win most laid back couple. They are the epitome of “go with the flow.” As family and friends gathered I could tell that everyone was relaxed and just happy for this day to be happening. Joe and Naia walked out together in the shade of Joe’s dad’s backyard and shared in a beautiful moment. The best part is that just because the wedding is over, doesn’t mean I don’t get to see them again since Naia and I now work at the same place! Best! Congratulations Joe and Naia. You’re a wonderful couple and I know you’ll have a happy lifetime together. So glad I was able to be a part of your day.
