What a day, what a venue, and what a couple! On August 31st, I found myself at Whittier Apple Farm to celebrate Donna and Taylor’s wedding. Rain was threatening to spoil things, but it mostly held off and only gave us a couple drops during the ceremony. The couple looked fantastic when I saw them. Donna beautiful in her dress and Taylor looked dapper with his groomsmen, having a deep and long discussion about how many buttons to button on a suit jacket (if there are two buttons everyone, you button only the top one). Soon enough I was standing by a lovely pond, listening to Donna and Taylor exchange their personal vows as I wished them many happy trips in the Adirondacks! And you wouldn’t believe how big they were smiling because they knew that kiss was coming, as I happily pronounced them husband and wife! Congratulations Taylor and Donna. I wish you a lifetime of beautiful moments just like this one!
August 30th was spectacular day! It was sunny and gorgeous, especially at O’Brien’s Sleepy Hollow for Chelsea and Lucas’s wedding day! My only concern…was all the geese! There were so many in the creek right behind the ceremony spot, and we all know how geese can be, but luckily, it all went off without a hitch 🪿🪿🪿 I found Lucas, sweating it up with his groomsmen as they played basketball on a crazy hot day, but I felt he was getting some of his nervousness out. Chelsea looked absolutely beautiful, finishing up photos with her bridal party. Soon enough we were lining up to begin! I got a hug from Lucas’s mom, so I was pumped and ready to go! Once we got to the altar, I could tell that there wasn’t enough basketball to get all of Lucas’s nerves out. But you could see the love on his face as Chelsea made her way down to him. They both seemed nervous, but were easing into it as it went on. Then my favorite moment happened! I tell the bride to put her left hand out for her ring, and then the groom repeats after me before her slips it on her finger. Well Chelsea ended up putting her hand out palm up, and nervous Lucas didn’t know what to do, so he placed the ring in the middle of her palm! It was seriously one of the most adorable things I’ve seen at a ceremony, and everyone lovingly laughed. These are the best moments at weddings. Soon enough though, all rings were on correctly and they were kissing as husband and wife! Congratulations Lucas and Chelsea. You met in the wildest of ways and I know your marriage will continue that wonderful, spontaneous, wild energy throughout!
August 17th was a stunning day at The Buffalo History Museum, which matched the way that Stephanie and Nate looked! And, a first for me after over 500 weddings, but I got stung by a bee before the ceremony started! Not my favorite, but hey, the good with the bad and a beautiful summer day 😆 The space outside the museum looked beautiful, flowers everywhere and a keyboard player filling the space with music. And there were parasols to keep guests cool to boot! I found Nate looking dapper, hanging around with his groomsmen, everyone sweating a little bit in the sun, but knowing it was all going to be worth it very soon. And soon enough Stephanie arrived, looking like a dream as she made her way down the grass aisle to meet Nate. They looked at each other with such knowing love and you could tell the audience felt it as well. Soon enough they were in each others arms, kissing as husband and wife! Congratulations Nate and Stephanie! I wish you much love on your happy life together.
I was so lucky on August 16th because I didn’t get to perform one wedding, but TWO! My second of the day was at The Admiral Room, where I found a magazine ready couple and wedding ready to happen! It was beautiful inside the building and Lindsay and Mike were also just glowing and gorgeous as they waited for this moment to begin. Guests were slowly gathering, admiring the beautiful space and lovely details that made everything perfect. But no matter how good the space looked, everyone really just wanted to see Lindsay and Mike. Soon enough that moment arrived and after Mike and I walked out to wait at the altar, out came Lindsay, both of them immediately with tears in their eyes as soon as they saw each other. Then I looked and saw almost all the bridesmaids crying, some groomsmen tearing up, and half the audience. I had to really keep it together! It was such a beautiful moment full of love and friendship, and you could tell how invested everyone was with this amazing relationship. They made it through their vows with smiles and tears and laughter and soon enough they were grabbing each other and kissing as husband and wife! Congratulations Mike and Lindsay! You’re such a lovely couple and I know you have so many years of happiness together. Much love!
A perfect way to start a day is at the Glen Iris Inn, in Letchworth State Park for an 11am wedding! It was a stunningly beautiful day on August 16th, and I was lucky enough to join Emily and Jamison on the beginning of their new adventure together. When I arrived I found Emily hiding out, looking pretty darn nervous (but beautiful), which I knew would pass once she was standing with Jamison. When I found Jamison outside, he had the same energy, nervous and more excited for the moments after he was finished standing up in front of everyone he knew. Soon enough, with the backdrop of a gorgeous waterfall, Emily and Jamison met each other at the altar, staring into each others eyes like, I can’t believe we’re here, I love you, now let’s move this along! Nervous couples are my favorite! 😂 But in no time they were sharing their vows and kissing as husband and wife and leaving those nerves behind knowing not only was the hard part done, and now they were officially bound together. Congratulations Jamison and Emily! It was a perfect day and I wish that luck to follow you through all your days.
July 20th was another amazing day at the amazing Botanical Gardens. I was lucky enough to arrive at the perfect spot to watch Jimmy and Nan get some photos taken, and they looked happy and in love as onlookers fawned over them. You could tell everyone was very excited for this moment. They both did seem nervous when I checked in with them, but I knew once things started, everything was going to feel right, and therefore calming in its own way. On soon enough, they were standing together, peering into each others eyes, and it did seem like it was only them in the world. They smiled at each other as they said their vows, and seemed completely moved by everything that was happening around them, especially when I announced them husband and wife and they could officially kiss! Congratulation Jimmy and Nan! You were absolutely made for each other and I’m so glad you magically found each other while not even in your own state! Best wishes for a happy life together.
There isn’t much I can say about Lori and Jeff that you can’t glean from their photos. Two beautiful humans, who on July 2nd, after having first loved each other in high school and then drifted away, found each other again, some 50 years later, and recognized a love that never went away. And so they leaned into that everlasting feeling and got married! I couldn’t have been more honored to officiate and I wish them the best on this new, beautiful chapter!
June 20th was another wonderful weekday wedding, a hot and baumy Thursday at Kloc’s Grove. The sun was out and shining for Alexis and Caleek’s big day! When I arrived, I found Alexis hiding out in the back, fast talking a little nervously, but looking stunning and knowing it in her dress that her Grandma had gotten for her. She knew how much she wanted this moment, but maybe was a bit nervous to be out in front of everyone. When I found Caleek he was all energy! Smiling and laughing with groomsmen, although looking at the sun like “can we get a little break here?”, but that was not to come 🤣. It didn’t matter though because nothing could stop these two from tying the knot (and their dog Bruno would not have approved of that anyway). Soon enough, Alexis was making her way out to Caleek, who smiled as he watched her walk to him. You could really read the love on their faces when they were standing together, realizing that this was their moment to make all of this love official. Soon enough, in that sweltering heat, they were kissing as husband and wife, feeling nothing but perfection. Congratulations Caleek and Alexis! It was so wonderful meeting both of you and I’m honored to have shared in your day!
June 14th was amazing not only because it was my Grandma’s 94th birthday, but because it was Molly and Daniel’s wedding! And at the Avanti Mansion, I found them preparing for the big moment. Molly looked beautiful getting the final touches put on with her bridesmaids, while Daniel hung out downstairs with his groomsmen, joking (a little nervously) and waiting for the time to arrive. Soon enough we were heading to the altar, with a couple good luck pats on the heads of flower girl Zoey and ring bearer Knox, who were just about the cutest wedding party members ever! When Molly and Daniel were standing face-to-face, you could see the emotion building on their faces. Having been together since High School pit band, this was a moment they had been waiting for a long time. Soon enough it was time for vows and for Knox to give over the rings, and before you knew it, they were kissing as husband and wife! Congratulations Daniel and Molly! You’ve known for so long that this was your person and I’m so happy I got to share the day with you!
June 8th was a beautiful day. Did that mean that Cassie wasn’t stressed about rain for the entire week before her wedding? No it did not 🤣. But when the day and time rolled around, it was a lovely evening at the always charming Kin Loch Farmstead. When I found Cassie, she looked stunning, but was still a bit anxious and nervous about how everything was going to go. I think those nerves maybe held on for the whole ceremony! Tyler seemed a bit more relaxed, but you could tell he was very excited for things to get moving. Their venue looked wonderful, ESPECIALLY the table name cards, which Cassie painted by hand! They were all so cute and unique and I couldn’t stop looking at them. I can’t even imagine how long they took her to make, but what an amazing favor for people to have. Soon enough we were heading out into the wooden spot for the ceremony, and the couple made their way to each other. They looked pretty nervous up there, a few moments of locking eyes and smiling, but I could tell the nerves were winning a bit. But they managed to say their beautiful vows, shaking hands and all (which I love seeing, it’s so sweet!). But soon enough (couldn’t come too soon for them), it was time to kiss as husband and wife! Congratulations Tyler and Cassie! This was perfect moment and I know there will be so many more in your future!
