November 2nd was a lovely day at The Botanical Gardens, my favorite wedding spot! I found Dave when I arrived, and he had his curmudgeon act on, but I wasn’t buying it. Although they told me he doesn’t smile, and wasn’t looking forward to the ceremony (all that attention on him) and doesn’t get emotional, I didn’t believe it. And let me tell you, I was right. He insisted he was just impatiently waiting for things to get moving, and when I finally saw Kathryn, looking so beautiful, she wasn’t phased by Dave. That’s the guy she loves and I think she knew how he was really going to feel when things got going!
So Dave and I went up to the altar to await Kathryn’s entrance. He hadn’t seen her yet and the moment she stepped out onto that aisle, I watched the tears form in his eyes and start to stream down his cheek. YES! These are the best moments! He seemed so moved to see the woman he loves, walking to meet him and become his wife, that there was no way not to be affected. They shared beautiful moments together while holding hands and it was such a meaningful and beautiful kiss at the end! Contractions Dave and Kathryn! I think this turned out to be the perfect moment that you both hoped for in different ways. May your whole marriage be that way!
